The Genesis:
On July 5, 2024, a sunny morning, the Children of Africa School System in Bong Mine, Lower Bong County, prepared for its annual expedition outside its familiar surroundings. The principal, Mr. Massaquoi Shilling, along with three other administrators and three teachers: Mr. Stephen J. Kollie (Vice Principal for Administration), Mr. Alex N. Henry (Vice Principal for Instruction), Mr. Boakai K. Jallah (Registrar), Mr. Samuel S. Barker, Ms. Moimah Shilling, and Mr. Edward T. Fomba respectively, dedicated themselves to broadening the horizons of the students. A board member equally graced the expedition, Mr. Emmanuel S. Blama. Together, they organized the trip to Monrovia, Liberia's vibrant capital. The specific destination was the Invincible Sports Park, a renowned venue, built by former President George M. Weah.
Our journey commenced sharply at 11:50 AM as we boarded a yellow school bus, eager for the day ahead. The road to Monrovia proved difficult, winding through crowded streets amidst heavy traffic. Despite the challenges, our spirits remained high.

Arrival and Exploration:
At approximately 2:40 PM, our school bus triumphantly arrived at the Invincible Sports Park. As everyone was extremely hungry after the journey, we promptly enjoyed a satisfying meal before delving into the park's offerings. The air buzzed with excitement as we dispersed to partake in various activities.
Some students, Mr. Shilling and Mr. Blama enthusiastically engaged in a soccer match, displaying their skills on the well-kept fields of the park. Other students opted to capture the moments on camera, documenting their adventures and forging new friendships with peers from different communities. A highlight was the park's special attraction: a van capable of accommodating eight children, providing a thrilling ride that left smiles on their faces.

Delights and Discoveries:
Throughout the afternoon, the park became a hub of joy and exploration. We enjoyed a variety of snacks available, indulging in treats that added to the day's festivities. Bike rides offered another avenue for adventure, with kids pedaling through the park's pathways, soaking in the atmosphere and companionship of each other.
As the sun began to set, signaling the end of a memorable day, we reluctantly bid farewell to the Invincible Sports Park at 6:22 PM. Reflecting on the experiences shared and memories made, the return journey commenced, aiming to reach Bong Mine by nightfall.

Reflections and Challenges:
The journey back was long but peaceful, with gratitude expressed for a day blessed with good weather and enriching experiences. Principal Mr. Massaquoi Shilling, along with his dedicated team pondered a persistent challenge: the lack of a dedicated school bus. Renting one for such excursions typically required paying USD 500 or above, a considerable sum for our school's budget. Parents have to buttressed the administration’s efforts on this. Despite this hurdle, the joy and learning the trip brought for both teachers and students remained priceless.
Conclusion:
As the clock neared 9:30 PM, our yellow school bus rolled back into Bong Mine, completing a journey carved with memories for all who were involved. Each student had not only explored new places and met new friends but also cultivated memories that would stay with them long after their school days.
In the heart of every student and faculty member lay a hope that someday, with continued support from KA and perhaps a stroke of luck, the Children of Africa School System would acquire its own bus, ensuring that future generations could continue to embark on such enriching adventures with less burden.
Indeed, the trip to the Invincible Sports Park was more than just a day out; it was a testament to the power of experiential learning and the enduring spirit of community and discovery at the Children of Africa School System in Bong Mine, Lower Bong County.
